Patterns of the motion of the Sun, Moon, and stars in the sky can be observed, described, and predicted.

Every morning, the Sun rises.
At times, the clouds block the sun.
Even if there are clouds, the Sun still rises.
When the Sun goes down, the day turns into night.

The Sun has a pattern.
It always rises in the eastern sky.
It always goes down in the western sky.
During the day, it moves across the sky.

At night, the stars appear.
They too move across the sky.
They move in the same pattern as the Sun.
They move from east to west.
They are always there, even if you can’t see them.
Like the Sun, sometimes the stars are blocked from view by
the clouds.

The Moon cannot always be seen.
On some nights, the Moon can be seen in the sky.

Why does it seem to change shape?
On some nights, it looks big.
