In this lesson, you'll use the image, "14_Selfie.jpg." Before continuing, click on the Resources tab and download the image.

Sometimes you only need to fix one or more spots on an image. For this, you can use the Spot Heal tool. When you click this tool on a spot in an image, it duplicates the surrounding area to blend on top of the spot.

Click on the Spot Heal tool in the Tools panel.

In the tool options, set the size to about 12-15 pixels. That will be large enough to have some surrounding area to blend on top of the spot.
You can use the size slider or select the number and change it in the text field.

Center the
Spot Heal
tool over the pimple in spot 1 and click it. The area around the spot is used to blend with the area of the tool to remove the pimple.

Now try spot 2. Spots 1 and 2 work well, because the areas around the pimples are unobstructed.

Spot 3 is a different story. There's a hair next to the pimple. This makes it difficult - but not impossible - to use the
Spot Heal
tool, because the hair interferes with the tool. Try different diameters and multiple clicks.

Remember, you can use the
History
panel to undo something that didn't work.
