When dealing with rigid motions, think of corresponding sides as a side on the original shape and the same side on the translated, reflected, or rotated shape . Rotation Investigation
::轮调调查You've learned that rotations turn an image around a center of rotation . The center of rotation is the point about which an image is rotated. Every point of the rotated image remains the same distance from the center of rotation as it started. How can you be sure that the size or shape of the image hasn't been changed?

The 900 in 1999

You end up in the same place! This is called an equivalent rotation. Equivalent rotations are different rotations that end up in the same place. So far we have only focused on rotations less than 360-degrees, but it is possible to rotate more than 360-degrees. This is seen all the time in extreme sports. Tony Hawk famously became the first to lan d the 900, which is two and a half full spins, at the 1999 Summer X G ames . Currently, the most spins ever in one trick happened in snowboarding and the trick is called a 1980, because that's how many degrees the snowboarder rotated. How many spins would a snowboarder have to complete to land a 1980?
