  • Adjectives and Adverbs (Modifiers)  make a piece of writing more vivid and colorful. They add imagery that helps the reader to visualize, running a movie in the reader's mind. Adjectives and Adverbs are important, helping to add interest to a piece of writing.

    Adverbs tell how, when, and where about a verb.  They can also modify adjectives or other adverbs.  Many adverbs act as intensifiers.  They answer to what extent? about an a verb, adjective, or adverb.

    Think:  Describe the animal(s) in the picture.  Use adjectives to tell about nouns and adverbs to tell how the actions are being performed.  Discuss with your team.
