    You will practice interpreting and writing inequalities within a context.

    Recall the definition of an equation : two expressions joined by an equal sign. An inequality is two expressions, joined by one of four inequality signs ; <, ≤, >, and ≥. These signs are read:

    Going to the Gym

    Gabriella is looking into a gym membership. To stay within her budget, she needs to spend less than $400 for the entire year. The gym, Pump-U-Up, offers students a deal where it is $50 to join and then $28 per month. A second gym, Get Fit, offers a student deal such that it is only $20 to join, but $30 per month. Help Gabriella write  an inequality  for each gym .

    What Are the Words?

    In this interactive, you will create a word problem that describes the inequality  3 x + 5 50 .  Below are several phrases that you can put together to make a word problem . Create two different scenarios from the phrases. You will need to include "and" as one of your phrases in each scenario.

    In general, solving an inequality  uses the same process as solving an equation.
