  • In this lesson, you'll use the image, "05_PalmTrees1.jpg." Before continuing, click on the Resources tab and download the image.

    If an image is a little too dark or bright – "underexposed" or "overexposed" – you can adjust it using Exposure . Exposure adjusts the amount of light in an image and affects the entire image, shadows (darks), midtones, and highlights (brights).

    Open the image “05_PalmTrees1.jpg” in Pixlr Editor. This image is a little underexposed (too dark).

    Click on the Adjustment menu and choose Exposure .  This adjustment automatically applies a lighter exposure setting.

    Adjustments > Exposure

    1. Adjust the exposure darker or lighter by dragging the  Exposure s lider left and right.

    2. You can also click into the number field and change the number – lower for darker and higher for lighter

    3. When you have the exposure adjusted, click the OK button.
