    A Mandated Reporter is any person who is required by law to report a particular category or type of abuse to the appropriate law enforcement or social service agency.

    Mandated Reporters are legally responsible to report the incident themselves. They are not required to investigate any known or suspected case of abuse.

    Mandated reporters include all licensed healthcare professionals.
    ::法定记者包括所有有执照的保健专业人员。

    Everyone who has knowledge of abuse should report ; however, designated professionals are required by law to report.

    Failure to report is a misdemeanor crime punishable by up to six (6) months in jail and/or up to a $1000 fine.

    Abuse of an elder or dependent adult is defined as the following:

    If you are a Mandated Reporter you are required to report if you:

    • Witness an incident

    • Receive information or evidence, whether visual or audible.

    • An elder or dependent adult discloses an incident that appears to constitute abuse

    Call your local Adult Protective Services or Elder Abuse Hotline.
