    Graphic designers use translations to create graphics , and r eflections are one of the key principles of the process . R eflections and the idea of symmetry  tend to present  a   feeling  of organization. A design that is symmetrical can give the viewer a feeling of comfort because it is easier for the brain to understand. This principle is commonly used when designing websites, company logos, architecture , and much more. 
    ::图形设计师使用翻译来创建图形,反射是这一过程的关键原则之一。反思和对称概念往往呈现一种组织感。一个对称的设计可以让观众感到舒适,因为大脑更容易理解。在设计网站、公司标识、建筑等等时,这一原则被普遍使用。

    Matching  Sides and Angles
    ::匹配边和角

    When a shape is reflected , it can be much more difficult to identify corresponding sides and than if the shape were just translated. Remember that Corresponding sides are matching sides in two different shapes. When dealing with rigid motions, think of corresponding sides as a side on the original shape and the same side on the translated, reflected, or rotated shape . Like corresponding sides, corresponding angles are matching angles in two different shapes.

    Reflecting on  Reflections
    ::反思反思

    Reflections flip an image over a mirror line . A mirror line is the line that the image is reflected over. Every point of the flipped image is the same distance (in the opposite direction) from the mirror line as the corresponding point in the original shape. How can  you be sure that the size or shape of the image hasn't changed?

    Symmetrical  Design
    ::对对称设计

    Reflection   s ymmetry is displayed when one shape is identical to another after being  reflected  over a mirror line. Every point on one shape is the same distance to the mirror line, also known as the  line of symmetry, as every corresponding point on the reflected shape. If you folded the plane on top of itself along the line of symmetry , both sides would line up perfectly.
    ::反射对称当一个形状在反射线反射后在反射线上反射线上反射线与另一个形状相同时,即显示反射对称。一个形状上的每个点与反射线的对称线相同,也称为对称线,与反射形状上每个对应点相同。如果将平面按对称线折叠在上方,两侧将完全排列。

    As mentioned before , symmetry can invoke feelings of comfort and organization. Symmetry is one of the most important  concepts that businesses consider when designing logos. Consumers typically find symmetrical logos more appealing.

    For this activity, you are playing the role of a graphic designer who has been hired to design the new logo for a company. Choose one of the three companies below and design a logo based on the information provided:
