Hi everyone. Today we're going to do some multiplication problems that involve choosing the multiples of a given number up to 12. Let's take a look at this example. Which of the following numbers are multiples of 12? Multiple means that when I multiply a number by 12, 12 times 1, let's say, and that equals 12, 12 is a multiple of 12. And we can do that with 12 times 2, which is going to give us 24 and 12 times 3, which is going to give us 36 and 12, 24, and 36 then are multiples of 12. Let's take a look at these answer choices that we have here. 22, 134, 134, and 35. So we have all these choices here. Let's take a look and see if any of them give us multiples of 12. 22, we can see is not a multiple of 12, because 12 times 1 is 12 and then 12 times 2 is 24. We could maybe get 22, but we would have to use a number that's not a whole number, which makes it not a multiple of 12. So 22 is off our list. 134, there is not a number that we can multiply by 12 to get 134. So the whole number, so 134, is in a multiple of 12. So here we have 24 and 35 left. So 24, we can obviously see is a multiple of 12, because we did 12 times 2 and we got 24. So yeah, we found one. 24. Let's check this last one. 35. Notice that 12 times 3 is 36, so we can't really get 35 by multiplying a number 12 times a whole number. So that must mean, again, 35 is not a multiple of 12.
